Overview
The Lookah Seahorse King is the top portable option in the Seahorse lineup. While the Seahorse Max has its integrated bubbler for water filtration, the King focuses on direct hits with premium materials in a smaller package.
The name fits. You get a 950mAh battery (same as the Max), USB-C charging (like the Seahorse Pro Plus), transparent quartz tips, a glass mouthpiece, and zinc alloy construction. It's basically Lookah taking the best features from each model and putting them in one device.

Design & Build Quality
The Seahorse King feels solid. The zinc alloy chassis has real weight to it and holds up better than the Pro models. At 150mm x 40.6mm x 22.5mm, it still fits in a pocket, but it's bigger than the Pro Plus. That's the trade-off for the larger battery.
The metal body does double duty. It protects the internals from drops and daily abuse, and it pulls heat away from the tip during longer sessions. You can actually use this thing for a while without it getting too hot to hold.
Glass Mouthpiece
The glass mouthpiece is a big upgrade from standard Seahorse models. Glass doesn't add any flavor to your vapor, so you taste the concentrate and nothing else. It pops off for easy cleaning too.
Pair that glass mouthpiece with the transparent quartz tip and you have a completely flavor-neutral vapor path. If you care about tasting your terps, this setup delivers.
USB-C Charging
USB-C charging on a bigger battery. No more fumbling with the cable orientation, and the 950mAh battery charges in about 90 minutes. That's longer than the Pro Plus, but the Pro Plus also has a smaller battery. The charging speed per mAh is about the same.
Features
Transparent Quartz Tip
The King comes with Lookah's Seahorse V coils. They're transparent quartz, so you can watch your concentrate vaporize. Looks cool, but the real benefit is flavor. Quartz heats evenly, adds nothing to the taste, and handles repeated heating without degrading.
You get two quartz tips in the box. One to use, one as backup while you clean or if you need a replacement. Swapping takes seconds thanks to the 510 threading.
950mAh Battery
This is where the King pulls ahead of the Pro models. 950mAh means you can dab all day without hunting for a charger. That matters if you:
- Dab frequently throughout the day
- Travel where outlets aren't always available
- Share with friends
- Like longer sessions
The LED shows battery status: Green means 60-100%, yellow is 31-60%, red is 0-30%.
Variable Voltage Control
Three voltage settings let you dial in your preference:
| Voltage | LED Color | Character |
|---|---|---|
| 3.2V | Green | Best flavor, smooth hits |
| 3.6V | Blue | Balanced vapor and taste |
| 4.0V | White | Max vapor production |
The King tops out at 4.0V instead of 4.1V like other Seahorse models. Small difference, but it means slightly gentler high-temp hits.
Manual and Session Modes
Manual Mode: Hold the button, the tip heats. Let go, it stops. Simple and precise.
Session Mode: Triple-click and the King preheats for 15 seconds, then stays hot for 25 seconds. Hands-free dabbing.
The timing differs slightly from the Pro Plus (which gives you 30 seconds instead of 25), but the concept is the same.
Water Pipe Compatibility
The King comes with a silicone hose and 14/18mm adapter for connecting to water pipes. You get water filtration without needing the Max's built-in bubbler.
Hook it up to your glass when you want cooled hits at home. Use it direct when you're out. Best of both worlds.
510 Thread Compatibility
Pop off the quartz tip and you can screw in standard 510 cartridges. The variable voltage and big battery make it work well for carts, though it's overkill size-wise for most cart users.
Performance
The quartz tips heat fast and even. First hit is as good as the tenth. The glass mouthpiece keeps the flavor clean, so you actually taste your concentrate's terpene profile instead of whatever the device adds.
Battery life matches expectations. The 950mAh lasts way longer than the 650mAh Pro models. If you're a heavy user, you won't stress about finding a charger.
The zinc alloy body manages heat well. Even after several back-to-back sessions, the King stays comfortable in your hand. The larger size helps here since there's more surface area to spread the heat.
Coil Compatibility
The King works with all five Seahorse coil types:
- Type I (SCI): Standard quartz
- Type II (SCII): Ceramic
- Type III (SCIII): Ceramic tube
- Type IV (SCIV): Advanced coil
- Type V (SCV): See-through quartz (included)
So you can experiment with different heating elements until you find what works best for you.
Who Is This For?
Power users: 950mAh handles all-day use. No compromises.
Flavor chasers: Quartz tip plus glass mouthpiece means nothing between you and your terps.
Quality seekers: Best materials and build in a portable Seahorse.
Pro Plus upgraders: Same concept, bigger battery, better materials.
Water pipe users: Included adapters let you add filtration without buying the Max.
Who Should Consider Alternatives?
Portability-first users: The Seahorse 2.0 is much smaller and lighter.
Budget shoppers: The Pro Plus does most of the same stuff for less money.
Desktop users: The Max's built-in bubbler might serve you better if you dab at home mostly.
Those who prefer USB-C: Wait, the King has USB-C. You're good.
The Bottom Line
The Seahorse King earns its name. Big battery from the Max, USB-C from the Pro Plus, premium materials throughout, and it still fits in your pocket.
The 950mAh battery is a real upgrade from the 650mAh Pro models. Unless you're dabbing constantly, you won't run out of power. Add the glass mouthpiece, see-through quartz tips, and solid zinc alloy build, and the whole package just feels quality.
It costs more than the Pro Plus. It's bigger and heavier too. But if you want the best portable nectar collector and don't need the Max's bubbler, the King is the one to get. For more recommendations, check out our best nectar collectors guide.
