Features Tested
Auto-draw, button fire
At under $35, the Nano Prime Plus includes the battery, two atomizers, a charging cable, and a combination mouthpiece/packing tool. That's a complete kit for getting started with concentrates.
Design & Build Quality
Classic pen shape here. Slim, cylindrical, pocketable. At 3.88 inches tall and half an inch wide, it slides into a pocket without anyone noticing.
Ergonomics
The battery section is slightly wider than most pen batteries. Atmos calls it their "improved ergonomic structure." Fancy words for "it's easier to grip." Subtle difference, but you notice it during longer sessions.
The single button handles power (5 clicks), voltage cycling (3 clicks), and manual firing (hold). It's positioned naturally for thumb access.
Build Quality
Construction is decent for what you're paying. The battery feels solid with no flex or rattling. Threading is smooth, connections are secure. It's not going to feel premium, but it doesn't feel like junk either.
The Quartz Coil
The Nano Prime Plus uses a single quartz coil atomizer. Quartz heats fast and gives you clean flavor without that metallic taste cheaper coils sometimes have.
Loading
Unscrew the mouthpiece to get to the coil chamber. The packing tool built into the mouthpiece cap helps you place concentrate right on the coil. Chamber is small, so stick to rice-grain-sized loads.
Spare Atomizer
Atmos throws in a second atomizer, which is nice. Coils degrade over time, and having a spare means you're not scrambling when performance starts dropping.
Features
Dual Activation Modes
The standout feature is dual activation: both auto-draw and button-fire work at the same time. This is actually useful:
- Auto-draw: Inhale to activate. Simple.
- Button-fire: Hold the button while inhaling for more control over heating.
Use whatever feels right in the moment. No settings to change.
Three Voltage Settings
Triple-click to cycle through voltages. LED color tells you where you're at:
| Color | Voltage | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Red | 3.2V | Flavor-focused, thin concentrates |
| Green | 3.7V | Balanced vapor and flavor |
| Blue | 4.2V | Thick concentrates, bigger clouds |
This covers most concentrates. Start low, work up.
Spring-Loaded 510 Connection
The Nano Prime Plus uses a spring-loaded 510 connection that keeps consistent contact with atomizers. Fewer connection issues than you get with some budget pens.
Performance
Vapor Quality
The quartz coil produces clean, smooth vapor with solid flavor. At 3.2V, terpenes come through well. Bump to 4.2V and you get denser clouds but lose some flavor detail. Standard tradeoff.
Heat-up is fast, under 3 seconds. The auto-draw sensor responds quickly without being too sensitive.
Battery Life
The 360mAh battery is the weak point here. Expect:
- Light users (3-5 sessions daily): 1-2 days per charge
- Moderate users (6-10 sessions daily): Daily charging
- Heavy users: Multiple charges per day
Small pen means small battery. That's the tradeoff. Micro-USB charging takes about an hour for a full charge.
Concentrate Compatibility
The single quartz coil handles most wax and shatter fine. Really runny concentrates can be tricky since they might leak past the coil. Stick to stable consistencies.
The Atmos Factor
We should talk about Atmos as a brand. They used to be a big name in vaporizers but have scaled back a lot. Customer service and warranty support can be hit or miss.
The hardware itself works fine though. The Nano Prime Plus is simple enough that you probably won't need warranty service if you treat it right. Just know what you're getting into, and buy from reputable retailers.
Who Should Buy This
The Nano Prime Plus makes sense if you:
- Want a cheap way to start with wax (see our best wax pens for more options)
- Care more about portability than battery life
- Like having both auto-draw and button options
- Need a backup or travel pen
Skip it if you:
- Vape concentrates heavily (the battery will annoy you)
- Want USB-C charging
- Need a bigger chamber
- Care about brand reputation and support
The Bottom Line
The Atmos Nano Prime Plus Waxy gives you decent value for under $35. Dual activation, variable voltage, and a spare atomizer all in the box. The 360mAh battery limits how much you can use it between charges, but for a pocket pen that handles occasional sessions, it works.
Know going in that battery life is limited and Atmos support is spotty. If that's fine with you, this pen does what it's supposed to do.
