Overview
The Pulsar RoK Electric Dab Rig pairs water filtration with electronic temp control. No torches. No timers. No guessing when your banger is ready.
At 6.75 inches tall, it sits between full desktop rigs and pocket-sized wax pens. You get better vapor than a pen without a massive rig taking over your desk. The kit includes atomizers for concentrates and dry herb, so you're covered either way.
Pulsar built this for people who care about vapor quality but also want something practical. If you're tired of torching or just want an easier entry point to dabbing, the RoK is worth a look.

Design & Build Quality
Metal base, glass bubbler, everything fits together tight. The RoK feels solid in hand without being heavy or awkward.
Construction and Materials
The base is all metal with a matte finish that doesn't show fingerprints. Pulsar kept things practical here. The atomizer chamber pops out easily, the water reservoir fills without drama, and all the pieces click together with a satisfying fit.
The glass bubbler is borosilicate, the same stuff in quality bongs and lab equipment. It's not flimsy. The built-in disc percolator breaks vapor into tiny bubbles, giving you maximum water contact for cooler hits.
Atomizer System
You get two atomizers in the box, and they each do something different:
Quartz Atomizer: Fast heat-up, clean flavor. If you care about tasting your terpenes, start here. The V2 version has better heat distribution than the original.
Ceramic Atomizer: Slower to heat but holds temperature steadier. Produces denser clouds. Pick this one when you want bigger vapor over pure flavor.
Both are coilless designs. Your concentrate sits directly on the heated surface instead of a wrapped coil. Less hot spots, less burning, better taste.
Airpath Design
The airpaths keep vapor away from the electronics. This matters for two reasons: your hits won't taste like circuitry, and residue won't gunk up the battery compartment. Draw resistance is low, so you're not fighting for airflow.
Size and Portability
At 6.75 inches, it's compact for a water-filtered e-rig. The glass means you can't just toss it in a pocket, but it travels fine in a padded case. The base is stable enough that it won't tip over during normal use.
Available Editions
Pulsar makes several limited editions: Luna (glow-in-the-dark green), Full Spectrum Rainbow, and various collaborations. They look different but work the same as the standard version.
Features
Three Temperature Settings
The RoK gives you three options:
| Setting | Voltage | Approximate Temperature | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 3.4V | ~680°F | Flavor-focused sessions, terpene preservation |
| Medium | 3.6V | ~750°F | Balanced vapor and flavor |
| High | 3.8V | ~850°F | Maximum vapor production, thick concentrates |
Press the power button three times to cycle through. LED lights show which setting you're on.
RoK Mode (30-Second Extended Draw)
This is the headline feature. Normal operation cuts off around 10 seconds. RoK Mode gives you 30 seconds of continuous heat.
Why does this matter?
- Group sessions: Pass the rig without interrupting the hit
- Low-temp dabbing: Let concentrates fully vaporize at cooler temps
- Bigger loads: Make sure larger dabs actually finish
- Dry herb: Give herbs enough time to release vapor
There's a specific button combo to activate it (check the manual), so you won't trigger it by accident.
Water Filtration System
The disc percolator creates hundreds of tiny bubbles as vapor passes through. Your hits come out cooler and smoother. The water also traps larger particles, so you're inhaling cleaner vapor.
The chamber is sized right. Enough water for good filtration, not so much that it splashes into your mouth. Fill lines show you the sweet spot, and the clear glass lets you see what's happening.
Dual-Use Capability
Concentrates are the main event, but the RoK handles dry herb too with the included herb carb cap. Don't expect dedicated dry herb vaporizer performance. Think of it as a bonus, not the primary function.
Included Accessories
Everything comes in the box:
- Coilless Quartz V2 Atomizer Cup
- Coilless Ceramic Atomizer Cup
- Herb Carb Cap
- Wax Carb Cap
- Two Silicone Atomizer Collars
- Micro-USB Charging Cable
- Dab Tool
- Wire Brushes (2)
- Crud Bud Alcohol Cotton Swabs (4)
- Carb Cap Tether
Pulsar includes cleaning supplies because they know you'll need them. Good move.
Performance
Vapor Quality
The RoK puts out impressive vapor across all three settings. Coilless heating plus water filtration equals smooth, flavorful hits. It competes with rigs that cost more.
Low temp (3.4V) is all about flavor. Terpenes come through clean, especially with the quartz atomizer. Quality concentrates taste like they should.
Medium temp hits the balance most people want for everyday use. More vapor than low, still tastes good. Works well with different concentrate types.
High temp (3.8V) is for cloud chasers and thicker concentrates. Flavor takes a back seat, but everything vaporizes completely instead of pooling in the cup.
Heat-Up Time
About 30 seconds to reach operating temperature. That's normal for an e-rig, slower than pens. The slower heat-up actually helps preserve flavor.
Ceramic takes a bit longer than quartz but holds temp better once it gets there. Some people preheat ceramic before loading.
Battery Life
The 1600mAh battery handles moderate sessions fine. Heavy users will need to charge more often. Expect somewhere around 25-35 sessions per charge, depending on your temp settings and how long your draws are.
No pass-through charging. Plan ahead for longer sessions. A full charge from empty takes 2-3 hours via micro-USB.
Water Filtration Effectiveness
The disc perc does its job. Smooth diffusion, not too much drag. Hits feel cooler and cleaner than dry e-rigs or wax pens, especially at higher temps where harshness would otherwise be a problem.
Some people run minimal water for less filtration and more flavor. Others fill it up for maximum cooling. The RoK works either way.
Maintenance Considerations
E-rigs need cleaning. The RoK makes it easier than most. Atomizers pop out for iso baths. The glass bubbler separates for thorough scrubbing. The included alcohol swabs handle quick cleanups between deep cleans.
Residue affects everything: flavor, airflow, heating. Clean it weekly (or more) and do quick wipes daily. Your RoK will thank you.
Who Is This For?
Torch-Free Dabbers: Already using a torch rig? The RoK gives you electronic convenience without sacrificing vapor quality. Same smoothness from water filtration, none of the butane or timing guesswork.
Upgrade Seekers: Coming from a wax pen and want better vapor? The RoK is a real step up. Water filtration changes the game in ways compact devices can't match.
Versatile Users: Want concentrates and occasional dry herb without two devices? The RoK handles both. Herb mode won't replace a dedicated vape, but it works.
Space-Conscious Consumers: No room for a big desktop rig? At 6.75 inches, the RoK fits smaller spaces while still delivering quality vapor.
Social Consumers: The 30-second RoK Mode exists for passing around. No constant button pressing or waiting for reheats.
The Bottom Line
The Pulsar RoK does what it promises: smooth, water-filtered electronic dabbing at a reasonable price. Temperature control works well, both atomizers deliver, and the 30-second RoK Mode is actually useful for group sessions.
Downsides? Micro-USB charging in 2025 feels lazy. The glass needs careful handling. Battery life won't satisfy all-day users.
But here's the thing: at $150, you're getting vapor quality that beats many pricier options. The build is solid, the accessory kit is generous, and it works well for both solo and social sessions. If you want a compact e-rig with water filtration, the RoK belongs on your shortlist. Check out our best e-rigs guide for more recommendations.
