Overview

The Pulsar RoK Electric Dab Rig combines the smooth vapor delivery of water filtration with the convenience of electronic temperature control. Standing 6.75 inches tall, this compact e-rig features dual coilless atomizers (quartz and ceramic), three temperature settings, and a unique 30-second RoK Mode for extended sessions.

This manual covers complete setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for your Pulsar RoK to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Getting Started

Initial Charge

Before first use, fully charge your RoK:

1. Locate the micro-USB port on the base unit
2. Connect the included micro-USB cable to the device
3. Connect the other end to a USB power source (wall adapter, computer, or power bank)
4. The LED indicator will illuminate during charging
5. Allow 2-3 hours for a complete initial charge
6. Disconnect when the LED indicates full charge

Important: Use a standard 5V USB power source. Avoid fast-charging adapters rated above 5V/2A.

Assembling the RoK

1. Install the atomizer:

   • Select your preferred atomizer (quartz or ceramic)
   • Align the atomizer with the connection point in the base
   • Press down gently until fully seated
   • The atomizer should sit flush and feel secure

2. Attach the glass bubbler:

   • Ensure the atomizer is installed first
   • Place a silicone collar around the atomizer neck if included
   • Carefully lower the glass bubbler over the atomizer
   • Twist gently to ensure proper seating
   • The bubbler should sit securely without wobbling

3. Add water:

   • Remove the mouthpiece/top section of the bubbler
   • Add room temperature water through the top opening
   • Fill until water level is just above the disc percolator
   • Replace the mouthpiece section
   • Test by inhaling without powering on; water should bubble gently

Powering On/Off

• Turn On: Click the power button 5 times rapidly within 2 seconds
• Turn Off: Click the power button 5 times rapidly within 2 seconds

The LED indicator will flash to confirm power state changes.

Usage Instructions

Basic Concentrate Operation

1. Power on the device (5 rapid clicks)
2. Select temperature by clicking 3 times to cycle settings
3. Load concentrate:
   • Use the included dab tool to collect a small amount of concentrate
   • Place concentrate directly into the atomizer cup
   • Start with rice-grain-sized amounts until familiar with the device
4. Attach the wax carb cap over the atomizer
5. Press and hold the power button to begin heating
6. Inhale slowly through the mouthpiece as vapor forms
7. Release the button when finished
8. Exhale and enjoy

Tip: Begin at the lowest temperature and increase as needed. Lower temperatures preserve flavor; higher temperatures maximize vapor production.

Temperature Settings

Cycle through temperature settings by clicking the power button 3 times:

Using RoK Mode (30-Second Extended Draw)

RoK Mode extends heating duration from 10 seconds to 30 seconds:

1. With the device powered on, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds
2. The LED will flash to indicate RoK Mode activation
3. Release and press again to begin the 30-second heating cycle
4. Inhale throughout the extended duration
5. The device returns to normal mode after the cycle completes

When to use RoK Mode:

• Group sessions where the rig is passed between users
• Low-temperature dabbing requiring extended heat application
• Larger concentrate loads needing more time to fully vaporize
• Dry herb sessions requiring longer heating periods

Dry Herb Usage

While primarily designed for concentrates, the RoK can vaporize dry herb:

1. Use a medium or high temperature setting
2. Grind herb finely for even heating
3. Load a small amount into the ceramic atomizer (ceramic recommended for herb)
4. Attach the herb carb cap (not the wax carb cap)
5. Use RoK Mode for best results; herb requires longer heating than concentrates
6. Stir the herb between draws for even extraction

Note: Concentrate use remains the RoK's primary strength. Herb functionality is supplementary.

Carb Cap Usage

The RoK includes two carb caps for different purposes:

Wax Carb Cap: Features a pointed dabber tip for manipulating concentrates during heating. Use with concentrates to cap the atomizer and direct airflow for efficient vaporization.

Herb Carb Cap: Flat design without a dabber tip, sized appropriately for dry herb use. Caps the atomizer while allowing proper airflow for herb vaporization.

Proper carb cap use improves efficiency by:

• Reducing airflow to increase vapor density
• Maintaining heat within the atomizer
• Allowing you to manipulate concentrates during the session

Charging

Battery Specifications

Charging Procedure

1. Turn off the device before charging
2. Connect micro-USB cable to the port on the base
3. Connect to a USB power source
4. LED indicator shows charging status
5. Disconnect when fully charged

Battery Tips

• Charge before complete depletion for best battery longevity
• Store with partial charge (40-60%) for extended storage
• Avoid charging unattended overnight
• Use standard 5V USB power sources only
• The device cannot be used while charging

Care & Maintenance

After Each Session

1. While the atomizer is still warm (not hot), use a cotton swab to wipe residue from the atomizer cup
2. The included Crud Bud alcohol swabs are ideal for this purpose
3. This quick maintenance prevents buildup that affects flavor and performance

Weekly Deep Cleaning

Atomizer Cleaning:

1. Allow atomizer to cool completely
2. Remove atomizer from the base unit
3. Soak in isopropyl alcohol (90%+ recommended) for 15-30 minutes
4. Use wire brushes to remove stubborn residue
5. Rinse with warm water
6. Allow to dry completely before reinstalling

Glass Bubbler Cleaning:

1. Empty all water from the bubbler
2. Remove from the base unit
3. Fill with isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt
4. Cover openings and shake vigorously
5. For stubborn buildup, soak for 30-60 minutes
6. Rinse thoroughly with warm water
7. Allow to dry completely before use

Base Unit Cleaning:

1. Use a dry cloth to wipe the exterior
2. Clean the atomizer connection point with a dry cotton swab
3. Remove any debris from the airpath
4. Never submerge the base unit in liquid

Glass Component Care

• Handle glass components over soft surfaces to prevent breakage if dropped
• Avoid extreme temperature changes (don't add cold water to hot glass)
• Inspect for cracks or chips before each use
• Replace damaged glass components immediately

Storage

• Store with water emptied from the bubbler
• Keep in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight
• Store atomizers separately if not using for extended periods
• Consider a padded case for transport
• Keep away from extreme temperatures

Usage Safety

• Do not use while driving or operating machinery
• Allow 10-15 seconds between draws to prevent overheating
• Use only intended materials (concentrates, dry herb)
• Keep the USB port and airpath clean and dry
• Place on stable, heat-resistant surfaces during use
• Never leave the device unattended while heating

Water Safety

• Use only clean water in the bubbler
• Change water daily for best hygiene
• Do not overfill; excessive water can enter the airpath
• Empty water before storage or transport

Troubleshooting

Device Won't Power On

1. Connect to micro-USB charger for at least 30 minutes
2. Click exactly 5 times within 2 seconds (timing matters)
3. Try a different USB cable or power source
4. Ensure atomizer is properly installed
5. Check that charging port is clean and undamaged
6. Contact Pulsar support if issue persists

No Vapor or Weak Vapor

1. Verify atomizer is securely seated in the base
2. Check that concentrate is loaded in the atomizer cup
3. Increase temperature setting
4. Ensure carb cap is properly positioned
5. Clean atomizer if residue buildup is present
6. Check water level (too much water reduces airflow)
7. Try the alternate atomizer

Harsh or Burnt Taste

1. Lower temperature setting
2. Use smaller concentrate loads
3. Clean the atomizer thoroughly
4. Ensure you're not overheating (release button periodically)
5. Check that atomizer isn't damaged or worn
6. Verify water level is adequate for filtration

Water in Airpath

1. Reduce water level to just above the percolator
2. Inhale more gently
3. Keep device upright during use
4. Check that glass components are properly assembled
5. Ensure mouthpiece is correctly seated

Atomizer Connection Issues

1. Remove and reseat the atomizer
2. Clean contact points with dry cotton swab
3. Inspect atomizer base for residue buildup
4. Check that atomizer isn't cracked or damaged
5. Try the alternate atomizer
6. If both atomizers fail, contact Pulsar support

Glass Component Issues
