Overview
The HoneyStick Gnome Dome Mini E-Rig sat right between basic wax pens and full desktop rigs. Wax pens are simple but harsh. Desktop rigs hit smooth but aren't portable. The Gnome Dome gave you water-filtered vapor in a battery-powered package you could actually take with you.

Daily water changes
The dome design housed the heating chamber beneath a glass bubbler. Vapor passed through water for cooling and filtering, which made hits much smoother than dry-hitting wax pens.

Design & Build Quality
You couldn't miss this thing. The dome-shaped glass bubbler sat on top of the battery base, creating a mushroom-like shape that looked nothing like typical vape devices.
HoneyStick built the base from durable materials that held up to regular use and travel. The glass bubbler is more fragile, but the thick walls help. You'll still need to be more careful with it than all-metal devices though.
It's bigger than pen-style concentrate vapes but way smaller than desktop units. It fit in a jacket pocket or small bag, so the water filtration system didn't kill its portability.
Build Components
The Gnome Dome has several parts:
- Battery base: The power source and control center
- Heating chamber: Quartz element for concentrate vaporization
- Glass bubbler: Water filtration dome
- Mouthpiece: Draw point at the top of the dome
Assembly was straightforward once users understood how the components fit together.
Features
Quartz Heating Element
The quartz heating chamber is the heart of the Gnome Dome's performance. Quartz heats evenly and doesn't add any taste to your vapor, so it's great if you care about flavor.
The heating element reached temperature quickly, eliminating long wait times between dabs.
Water Filtration
The glass dome functioned as a bubbler, filtering vapor through water before inhalation. Benefits included:
- Cooler vapor: Water absorbs heat for more comfortable hits
- Smoother draws: Filtration removes harshness
- Reduced throat irritation: Especially with larger dabs
- Flavor preservation: Unlike heavy filtration, the mini bubbler maintained terpene profiles
Temperature Control
Multiple temperature settings allowed customization based on concentrate type and personal preference:
Lower temperatures: Better for live resin and high-terpene extracts. Produced flavorful, light vapor.
Medium temperatures: Balanced vapor production and flavor. Good all-around setting.
Higher temperatures: Maximum vapor production for thick concentrates. More intense effects but potentially harsher.
Portable Battery
The battery held up well for multiple sessions between charges. The exact capacity varied by version, but most users got through a full day of moderate use without issues.
USB charging gets it back to full in 2-3 hours.
Performance
In use, the Gnome Dome's vapor quality beat typical wax pens. Quartz heating plus water filtration meant clean, smooth hits that kept concentrate flavors intact.
Loading is simple. Put your concentrate on the heated quartz element and draw. The water filtration cools the vapor right away, so even big dabs go down easy.
The temperature settings made a real difference. Low-temp dabs had great flavor. High-temp hits produced denser clouds and stronger effects.
Water Maintenance
The water filtration system required occasional maintenance:
- Change water every few sessions for optimal cooling
- Clean the glass bubbler weekly to prevent residue buildup
- Handle the glass carefully during cleaning
It's more work than dry vapes, but the smoother vapor is worth it.
Battery Life
The battery had enough juice for extended sessions. Here's what to expect:
- Light users (1-3 sessions/day): Multiple days between charges
- Moderate users (4-6 sessions/day): Daily charging
- Heavy users: May need mid-day top-ups
The quartz heating element needs decent power, so the larger battery makes sense. HoneyStick found a good balance between capacity and portability.
Who Was This For?
The Gnome Dome was a good fit for:
- Concentrate connoisseurs seeking smoother, filtered vapor
- Flavor enthusiasts who appreciated quartz heating
- Portability seekers wanting e-rig performance on the go
- Desktop rig owners looking for a travel companion
- Upgraders moving beyond basic wax pens
Skip it if you're:
- Looking for something truly pocket-sized
- Not comfortable handling glass
- Wanting zero maintenance
- Brand new to concentrate vaping
The Bottom Line
The HoneyStick Gnome Dome Mini E-Rig did what it set out to do: bring water-filtered dabs to a portable format. The quartz heating element kept flavors clean, the glass bubbler cooled vapor well, and the whole thing was still portable enough to take places.
If wax pens felt too harsh but desktop rigs weren't practical, the Gnome Dome was a solid middle ground. Yeah, there's some maintenance with the water system, but smoother vapor makes it worth the extra effort.
