Installing a Cartridge
- Remove the cap by pulling firmly (it pops off like a real highlighter)
- Locate the 510 port inside the body

Cap-On vs. Cap-Off Operation

- Cartridges up to 2g capacity
- Inhale through the cap tip
- Complete highlighter appearance maintained
- Auto-draw works through cap airpath
Cap Off (Standard Operation):
- Any 510 cartridge works
- Inhale directly from cartridge mouthpiece
- Highlighter body shape maintained but cartridge visible
- Better for larger or oddly-shaped cartridges
Usage Instructions
Basic Operation
- Power on the device (5 rapid clicks)
- Install your cartridge (see above)
- Select voltage (see below)
- Activate:
- Auto-draw: Inhale through cap tip (or cartridge if cap-off)
- Button: Press and hold base button while inhaling
- Draw slowly for 3-5 seconds
- Release and exhale
The device has a 10-second auto-cutoff for safety.
Voltage Settings
Click the base button to cycle through five voltage presets:
| Setting | Approximate Voltage | LED Color | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ~2.4V | Color 1 | Maximum flavor preservation |
| 2 | ~2.8V | Color 2 | Flavor-focused sessions |
| 3 | ~3.2V | Color 3 | Balanced vapor and flavor |
| 4 | ~3.6V | Color 4 | Increased vapor production |
| 5 | ~4.0V | Color 5 | Maximum vapor output |
Recommendation: Start at setting 2 or 3 and adjust based on preference.
Preheat Function
The 8-second preheat gently warms cartridges to thin thick oil:
- With device powered on, double-click the base button
- LED indicates preheat activation
- Device warms for 8 seconds at low power
- After completion, draw normally
When to Use Preheat:
- First use of a new cartridge
- Thick or viscous oil formulations
- Cold weather conditions
- When cartridge seems clogged or restricted
- After cartridge has been sitting unused
Activation Methods
Auto-Draw:
- Simply inhale through the mouthpiece (cap tip or cartridge)
- Sensor detects airflow and activates heating
- Most discreet method; looks like considering what to highlight
- Works through cap or directly from cartridge
Button Activation:
- Press and hold the base button while inhaling
- Provides precise control over activation timing
- Useful when auto-draw needs supplementation
- Works with both cap-on and cap-off configurations
Both methods work simultaneously; use whichever suits your situation.
Discreet Usage Tips
For maximum stealth operation:
- Use with cap in place for complete highlighter appearance
- Utilize auto-draw to eliminate button pressing
- Hold naturally as you would a writing implement
- Store among real supplies in pencil cases or desk organizers
- Keep movements natural; considering what to highlight while holding to face
- Small draws produce less visible vapor for subtlety

Troubleshooting
Device Won't Power On
- Charge via USB-C for at least 30 minutes
- Click base button exactly 5 times within 2 seconds
- Ensure USB-C port cover is removed when charging
- Try different USB-C cable or power source
- Contact Pulsar support if issue persists
No Vapor Production
- Verify cartridge is screwed in securely
- Check cartridge contains oil
- Increase voltage setting
- Use preheat function
- Check cap airpath isn't blocked (if cap-on)
- Try cap-off operation to isolate cap issues
- Test with a different cartridge
Auto-Draw Not Working
- Ensure device is powered on
- Draw with more force
- Check airpath for blockages
- Try button activation instead
- Verify cartridge connection
- Clean auto-draw sensor area
Cap Won't Fit Over Cartridge
- Verify cartridge is 2g or smaller
- Some cartridge shapes may not fit regardless of capacity
- Use cap-off operation for incompatible cartridges
- Standard 1g cartridges should always fit
Weak Vapor
- Increase voltage setting
- Ensure cartridge isn't empty
- Use preheat function
- Clean 510 connection
- The cap naturally restricts airflow; some vapor reduction is normal
Overheating
- Stop use immediately
- Allow device to cool
- Avoid continuous chain vaping
